New York ist eine besondere Stadt. Jedes Mal wenn ich ankomme, merke ich die zusätzliche Energie, die diese Stadt durchströmt. Es ist wie ein Aufputschmittel, das mir injiziert wird. Ich kann mir schlechthin nicht vorstellen, dass es da irgend mal langweilig wird. Irgendetwas läuft immer. Kurz nach meiner Landung machte ich mich auf den Weg und spazierte durch die 5th Avenue zum Central Park. Wie immer war ich auf der Suche nach einem kleinen Geschenk für meinen Jüngsten. Er mag es überhaupt nicht, wenn ich ohne ihn unterwegs bin und das einzig, das ihn besänftigt sind die kleinen Geschenke, die ich ihm von meinen Reisen mitbringe. New York is a special city. Whenever I arrive, I feel the additional energy, which flows through this city. It is like a stimulant that is injected into me. I simply cannot imagine that it is boring there at any time. Something is happening the whole time. Shortly after landing I set out and walked down 5th Avenue to Central Park. Es regnet. Nicht in Strömen, aber doch regelmässig. Die eingefleischten Fans kann es nicht aus der Ruhe bringen. Sie haben sich ihren Stehplatz vorne bei der Tribüne hart erkämpft, meistens durch die Tatsache, dass sie bereits Stunden vor dem Eintreffen der Band dort ausharren. Das bisschen Wasser kann ihnen nichts anhaben.
Sie sind Profis, durch Plastik geschützt und gut ausgerüstet, bringt sie nichts dort weg!

Luna – der Hund
Es war um die Jahrhundertwende. Der Arbeitsmarkt in Zürich war trocken wie ein Flussbett in Afrika vor dem grossen Regen. Mein kleines Team hat verzweifelt nach einer kaufmännisch ausgebildeten Assistentin gesucht. Wir konnten weder Traumlohn, noch Prestige noch sonstige wahnsinnige Vorteile bieten. Unser Trumpf war ein gutes Teamklima, Wertschätzung und Flexibilität. Dennoch meldete sich auf unsere Anzeige niemand. Mein Frust wuchs fast täglich. Als mich dann Natalie angerufen hat und sich für die Stelle interessierte, war meine Freude riesig. Sie sagte, dass sie sich vorstellen kommt aber eine Bedingung hat, nämlich dass ihre Hündin Luna sie zur Arbeit begleiten darf. Das ist ein wunderbarer Fleck unserer Erde, paradiesisch schön, mit frohen gastfreundlichen Leuten. Als sich die Gelegenheit bot, eine kleine, unbewohnte Insel als Tagesausflug zu besuchen, sagte Eva sofort ja. Der Preis war lächerlich und der Ausflug versprach wunderbare Erfahrungen und Eindrücke. It is a wonderful spot on our earth, beautiful as paradise, with happy hospitable people. When the opportunity arose to take a day trip to a small, uninhabited island, Eva immediately said yes. The price was ridiculous and the trip promised wonderful experiences and impressions.
