Gaudí, a name which stands for Barcelona. The Sagrada Familia, one of the most breath-taking churches, which I ever saw, park Güell, houses, which he was able to build in Barcelona in order to fill them with specially designed furniture. The world talks about him with reference and is queuing to admire his works.

On the other side Bruno Weber from Dietikon, who so far did not manage to achieve national recognition. The two gentlemen have a lot in common. They both have a seemingly endless fantasy, both are inspired by nature, created their own worlds and both are already dead.

The fantasy worlds of Bruno Weber are only a few steps away from Zurich, are not finished and due to lack of money for maintenance falling in disrepair. Bruno Weber built something in the canton of Zurich – which is regulated to the very last detail – that should not even be there. Nothing corresponds to norms and building regulations. The butterfly chairs from Bruno Weber might as well be from Gaudí.

Ps: which chair -> which artist?

On the last rainy Sunday in August I abled through the park of Bruno Weber and admired his imagination turned into sculptures. The park is threated to be closed. This would be a great pity. But perhaps an artist must be misjudged and almost forgotten before he is rediscovered by later generations, restored and celebrated.

In the middle of the park, completely wet, I wished to be assigned with the management task to save these works. And management ideas run by themselves. To win Holcim as sponsor – Bruno Weber built his work from concrete -, a new marketing concept, and a fan group in social media. Day dreams.

On the way home, walking through the city of Dietikon I encountered the masses, saw the queues for fried sausages, beer, smelt the grass. The young generation, the generation Y was there, but not for Bruno Weber but for the hemp fair.

Nevertheless I am convinced that Bruno Weber and his park will manage. Perhaps it will take a few more years. Now I buy a triamel (camel with three humps), not because I believe that it will increase its value but because I like it and will enjoy it every day.
