eBay: Senior Manager, Indirect Taxes / Bern


eBay is the world’s largest marketplace, enabling more than 90 million active buyers to purchase from more than 20 million sellers globally every year.

We are looking for an experienced Senior VAT Manager or Senior Indirect Tax Manager Manager to be based in our eBay office in Bern, Switzerland. Alternatively, the position can also be based in our offices in Berlin with some travel to Bern on a monthly basis.

You will report to the Director, Indirect Taxes. The European indirect tax team primarily covers Europe, Middle East, and Africa indirect tax matters but also participates in projects in other regions around the world. Continue reading

Do You Export From Canada? Prepare For Heightened Enforcement Of Canada’s Export Laws


PwC_fl_30mmh_cThis issue of PwC’s Canada Customs & International Trade Tax Insight covers the following important trade developments:

As a result of many goods exported from Canada having not been reported in accordance with the Customs Act, The Canada Border Services Agency has ramped up its enforcement efforts to deal with export reporting. Significant penalties will be imposed for non-compliance.

 

 

 

13.9m CAD have been pledged over the next five years to enable the Canadian Border Services Agency to enhance the identification processes and increase examination rates of high-risk export shipments.

Bill C-21 creates an export smuggling offence under a section of the Customs Act which currently prohibits import smuggling.
