The Manager, Indirect Taxes, based in Berlin, Dreilinden with the possibility to work from home will participate in the global compliance and global indirect tax projects. This position will be part of the Indirect tax team and will report to the Senior Manger, Indirect Taxes.

The Manager, Indirect Taxes will:

• Manage various indirect tax aspects of our German and EMEA businesses
• Review VAT declarations for Germany and other EMEA countries
• Support and coordinate VAT audits in Germany and other EMEA countries
• Contribution in further development of the tax compliance management system
• Support with the improvement of automation and digitalization of new and existing processes and workflows
• Collaborate and coordinate with various business resources, other tax functions, and external tax advisors
• Deliver timely and accurate indirect tax advice to business units
• Implement, review and optimize SAP processes dealing with indirect taxes and reporting
• Develop training material and train key functions
• Support with the indirect tax aspects of new country legislation and preparation of VAT registrations in the EMEA region
• Assist in optimizing SAP processes dealing with indirect taxes and reporting
• Participate in global indirect tax projects
• Train and support Junior Team members in their daily tasks and help them improving their VAT knowledge

Job requirements:

• Excellent knowledge of the German and EU Indirect Tax system, additional experience with other countries in the EMEA region is a plus
• Strong project management and organization skills
• Capable to working independently while acting as part of a global tax team
• Confidence, poise and diplomacy when interacting with all levels of management and tax authorities
• Ability to articulate complex concepts in a concise manner in both written and verbal presentations
• Demonstrated passion and track record of delivering results in a rapidly changing business environment
• Ability to handle many tasks simultaneously and set key priorities
• Strong client focus, good listening, negotiation and problem resolution skills
• Strong issue identification and mitigation skills
• Continuous process improvement skills essential
• Flexibility and willingness to travel (approx. 20%)

Basic Qualifications:

• Currently holds a similar position in-house or at an accounting firm
• At least 6 years proven Indirect Tax experience
• Fluent in English and German
• SAP knowledge an advantage
• Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Tax, Legal, or Accounting; advanced degree is helpful
• Certified German Tax Advisor exam is of advantage
