Indirect taxation in Brazil is probably one of the most challenging areas based on the complexity of the system. The webcast may focus on the following subjects:

  • Electronic Audit: current environment of electronic invoicing and bookkeeping is allowing tax authorities to have access to companies’ information real time and perform tax assessment also electronically. What actions could be undertaken to avoid potential risks and their effects?
  • Tax Rates Changes: Brazilian Indirect Taxes environment comprises mainly 5 (five) different taxes (applicable on transactions). Rates and methodologies to calculate such taxes change constantly, which requires fast update and action from companies. How to avoid potential benefits losses and increase of risks with correct approach?
  • Tax War: States granted to taxpayers incentives to develop industry sectors without complying with the federal legislation on the matter. How such benefits could impact companies’ business and how recent changes in legislation would affect the accumulation of tax credits?
