On the days where I travel to Portugal it would be better not to travel there. All my travels to or from Lisbon are affected by strikes with grim regularity. Once the public transport staff was on strike, the other time the aviation staff and this time the air traffic controller in France were on strike. An den Tagen, an denen ich nach Portugal fliege, wäre besser nicht dorthin zu reisen. Bei all meinen Reisen nach oder von Lissabon bin ich mit eiserner Regelmässigkeit von Streiks betroffen. Mal streikt das Personal des öffentlichen Verkehrs, mal das Flugpersonal und dieses Mal waren es die Fluglotsen in Frankreich. Da man Südfrankreich überfliegt und die Wahl der Route nicht wirklich flexibel ist, wurde mein erster Flug um 6.20 annulliert. The monitors are everywhere, football is omnipresent. One cannot avoid it. On Saturday evening my older daughter prepared to watch the football match with Germany. She painted her face and was full of anticipation. My youngest one also would have liked to go to the city to watch the game but the broadcast was too late and he had to be in bed by that time.
