Referring to the information on VAT split payment in Romania I would like to update you as follow:

This week the Romanian senators from the Budget Finance Committee discussed and proposed some amendments related to the VAT split system. In fact, amendments in connection with the VAT split system will be mandatory only for state owned companies, as well as companies which concluded agreements with the state, starting as from 2018. For other companies the system would be optional as of 2018 and mandatory only starting as from 2019, if it proves to be functional.

Those changes will be presented in this form to the plenary of the Senate for the final vote. Further on, corresponding amendments should be approved also by the second chamber of the Parliament and only afterwards we will know the final decision of government in this respect.
