Aufgrund der «ausserordentlichen Lage» hat der Bundesrat am 20. März 2020 auch im Bereich der Abgaben Massnahmen ergriffen und den befristeten Verzicht auf Verzugszinsen (Verordnung; SR 641.207.2) beschlossen.

Um von den Zahlungsaufschüben profitieren zu können, muss weiterhin ein schriftliches Gesuch für Zahlungserleichterungen nach Art. 90 MWSTG eingereicht werden. Die Gesuche sind weiterhin per Post oder Mail zuzustellen. Ein spezielles Formular oder sonstige zusätzliche Informationen sind nicht notwendig.

Globally, the coronavirus is gaining more and more grip and COVID-19 is starting to paralyse society and the economy. Government bodies and other organisations are taking measures to prevent any further spread.

The Croatian Government presented number of measures to help the economy with the crisis resulting from the COVID-19 epidemic and proposed amendments to relevant laws in order to create legal framework for the intended measures. Some of them were already adopted in the parliament today.

The Maltese Government has announced a number of measures in a bid to encourage retention of employees and alleviate imminent cash flow and liquidity concerns that are expected to be faced by certain local businesses in the light of the COVID-19 outbreak.
These initiatives are mainly targeted at those businesses that are suffering a significant downturn in their turnover as a result of the economic constraints arising from the COVID-19 pandemic and, as a result face substantial cash flow difficulties.
