OECD Survey on VAT/GST Relief for Foreign Businesses

OECD Logo FBThe OECD has launched below survey to assess the scope and magnitude of costs of irrecoverable VAT/GST incurred by businesses in jurisdictions where they are not established.

Has your business paid value-added tax (VAT), goods and services tax (GST) or similar taxes in foreign countries? Has your business tried to recover these taxes? The OECD business survey seeks to gather information on how VAT/GST refund procedures work in practice rather than on how they have been set by law. This is a part of an ongoing OECD project, Measuring Total Business Taxes, to estimate total business taxes across countries by accounting for business taxes paid in addition to corporate income taxes, including VAT/GST.

If you feel you are not the most qualified person in your business to participate, please inform the appropriate person.

In 2010 the OECD already launched a business survey on foreign VAT/GST relief for foreign businesses, which 308 businesses responded to. It would be excellent and a great success if we could top this big number of responses.

The deadline to complete the survey is Tuesday, March 15, 2016.
