As part of Egypt’s five-year fiscal strategy launched in October 2014, a Value Added Tax (VAT) system is expected to be introduced in the second half of this year to replace the current Sales Tax. The objective of this webcast is to present the latest developments with regards to introduction of a VAT system in Egypt. We will also give an overview of the main features of the envisaged VAT system, and notably how it will differ from the current sales tax system, and will discuss the potential impact of the introduction of VAT on businesses.
