Switzerland: VAT return digitalization

Today, the FTA reached another milestone in its digitization strategy: More than half of the taxable persons settle VAT online.

Within the last year, the proportion of persons settling online has risen from 36% to over 50%. This means that currently more than 194,000 companies are settling VAT electronically, and the trend is rising.

OECD and EC release disparate recommendations on tax and the digitalisation of the economy


The OECD Inclusive Framework on BEPS (‘IF’, a group of 113 countries) issued its paper Tax Challenges Arising from Digitalisation – Interim Report 2018 (the ‘Report’) on 16 March, and held a public webcast to discuss its findings.
