World Wide VAT 2017 – The international VAT forum

About the event

Seven years ago, we launched our World Wide VAT forum with the aim of providing our clients with insights on the latest global trends in indirect taxation (VAT/GST/sales tax/excise taxes) and creating a platform where international business people dealing with the same indirect tax issues can meet.

In the last couple of years, the VAT gap has been rapidly growing; consequently, the fight against tax evasion has become a priority issue for governments. Different countries have introduced different measures to tackle VAT fraud, and most of their solutions focus on digital technologies. Therefore, this year one of the key focuses of World Wide VAT event will be to give you an overview of the latest VAT digital technology requirements that companies around the world are now faced with.

This year, discussions will focus on the following topics:

  • Overview of VAT digital requirements (SAF-T, e-filing, real-time reporting), especially real-time VAT reporting in Spain and road transport monitoring obligations in Poland
  • VAT Action Plan of the European Commission – the future of VAT
  • VAT side-effects of Brexit
  • European Court of Justice updates
  • International hot news

The programme may change if further international VAT topics arise. The World Wide VAT forum will provide important information about changes to VAT, and you will also have the opportunity to chat and exchange views with experts and other peers on a more informal level. Drinks will be available after the official part.
