I would like to invite you to the panel meeting – Cross-Border Commerce – How to deal with indirect taxes which will take place in Zunfthaus zur Meisen in Zürich on 23 May 2017. This event will be held by the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce.
The taxation of cross-border supplies is under a constant review not only at the level of the EU, the OECD but also worldwide. There are more and more countries introducing the liability of the foreign, non-established supplier for local indirect tax on the supplies made remotely to consumers residing locally.
As per January 1, 2018, the Swiss VAT legislation will introduce new place of supply rules for distance sales made by non-established businesses and it is expected that 30’000 additional foreign businesses will register for Swiss – are you ready?
The above developments combined with the complexity of the current indirect tax systems around the globe show the need for a smart management of the indirect tax position not only to be able to serve foreign markets but also in order to remain competitive.
The purpose of this panel meeting is to share insights and experiences on how to deal with indirect taxes to ensure compliance with local rules when doing business remotely in foreign markets.
