A long weekend with all my children at my parents’ place in the Czech Republic. On Saturday I woke up at the same time as my youngest son. As so often recently, he had wandered to my bed in the middle of the night.
We looked at each other with drowsy eyes and I petted his head.
“Mami”, he said “you have butterflies around your eyes”!
What a poetic name for wrinkles! Yes, at my age one has some wrinkles here and there!
At breakfast I told the story from the morning. My mother, just 70 and hardly any wrinkles in her face, looked at me worriedly. My father, almost 80 years old also does not have wrinkles and thanks to his short black hair people take him for my brother. So, genetically I should have a minimum of wrinkles, but somehow I nevertheless have a few of them…
“You need a fountain of youth!!” my mother ponders. “I will register you for a beer bath”, she says and immediately puts this idea into action.
That way I ended up in cellar of the large brewery in Chodova Plana on Saturday afternoon at 2pm, together with my daughters and mother-naked. Due to the age restriction my son was not allowed to participate, much to his regret.
In the cellar were large metal tubs, separated by cloth curtains. The tubs were filed with a hot mixture of mineral water and beer. One stepped into the beer foamed and almost burned oneself, as this mixture was pretty hot. Next to the bath tubs, cool beer was offered. To drink from the tub thus would not only have been tasteless but also useless.
At the beginning we were still joking and chatting but after a while mind and body became sleepy and tired. A wonder that nobody drowned so far?!?
After the bath we went to the relaxation room. Like babies we were wrapped in warm blankets and immediately fell asleep. After waking up, it was not easy to get up again. And taking a shower was forbidden for the next 4 hours.
With dried beer foam in our hair we went home. My son was very happy when we returned. He gave me a kiss and said: “Mami, you smell like a wet cat!”
Well, what are we not doing for our beauty?!? Whereas this beer bath is harmless and very sleep-inducing on top of it. I can only recommend it!!! Just the butterflies around the eyes, they remained.
